Linear encoder scale – Mimaki JV33-260 – E300671

The Mimaki E300671 linear encoder scale (Linear Encoder Scale 3126) is the optical scale mounted along the Y-bar of the JV33-260 and JV33-260BS, 2.6-metre solvent-based printers. The encoder sensor continuously reads it to determine the exact position of the print heads.

Its graduations at 180 lines per inch (180 LPI) provide the controller with a position reference on each pass. This precision ensures accurate drop placement and bidirectional printing without misalignment.

Supplied on its own, width 15 mm, approximate length ≈ 3126 mm. Three options available on this product page: New (genuine Mimaki part), Refurbished (inspected genuine part) or New / Compatible (tape custom-manufactured by DG Spare Parts).

• Exact measurements are essential: please specify the total length of your original tape, including mounting holes, when placing your order. Without this measurement, the order cannot be sent for production.
• Supplied without mounting holes: these must be drilled by the customer, marking out the position of the holes from the original strip.
• Made to order; not covered by the Mimaki manufacturer’s warranty.

Function

• To provide the encoder sensor with the position reference of the carriage on the Y-axis
• Ensure synchronisation between the carriage’s movement and the heads’ firing
• Ensure alignment of the forward and return passes
• Maintain the dimensional accuracy of the prints

Possible symptoms of wear

• ‘Y current over’ error or carriage stoppage during printing
• Misalignment or duplication of passes in bidirectional mode
• Fine, irregular stripes across the width of the media
• Scratches, ink marks or faded graduations visible on the belt

Replacing the encoder belt restores reliable carriage positioning and eliminates registration errors caused by impaired reading.
