COM16 IO PCB Assembly – Mimaki JV150 / CJV150 – E109730

The COM16 IO PCB Assy E109730 input/output board is fitted to the Mimaki JV150 and CJV150. Installed in the electrical cabinet, it connects to the main PCB via CN1/CN2 and acts as the interface between the main PCB, the carriage and the machine’s peripheral components.

According to the Mimaki CJV150 maintenance manual (D500994, section 2.3.3), it controls the printhead waveform and the inputs/outputs outside the printheads: maintenance station, wiper, suction pump, take-up unit and heater. The print heads are driven by 8 Epson E09A7218A drivers mounted on an aluminium heat sink. This architecture ensures reliable control of the print heads and peripheral devices.

Supplied as a complete assembly (Assy), this data sheet corresponds to version E109730, the current part number for the board: it replaces the E108075 and the MP-E112213 (‘COM16 PCB B Assy’). The board shipped bears the manufacturer’s label E109730; the previous version, E108075, is listed on its own data sheet.

• Not compatible with the JV300 / CJV300: the 300 series (dual-head) uses the ‘COM32 IO PCB Assy’ E107944, which is not interchangeable

• Before replacement, follow procedure 5.2.1 in the maintenance manual (‘Determining short circuit of COM16 IO PCB/COM32 IO PCB’): a short circuit on a connected device will blow a fuse on the board and would similarly damage a new board

Function

• Monitors the waveform of the print heads via its 8 Epson E09A7218A drivers
• Controls the inputs/outputs outside the cartridges: station, wiper, suction pump, take-up unit, heater
• Supplies power to the ‘CART IO PCB’ (cartridge inputs/outputs) via CN10
• Connects the ‘Main PCB’ to the carriage via buses COM1 to COM5
• Protects the 42 V, 24 V and 5 V power supplies via on-board fuses
• Monitors its internal voltages and reports errors 192 to 195

Possible symptoms in the event of wear and tear

• ERROR 192 ‘COMIO PCB V1R2’ (voltage 1.2 V)
• ERROR 193 ‘COMIO PCB V2R5’ (voltage 2.5 V)
• ERROR 194 ‘COMIO PCB V3R3’ (voltage 3.3 V)
• ERROR 195 “COMIO PCB V24” (voltage 24 V)
• ERROR 15f ‘HEAD DRIVE HOT’: overheating of the head drive circuit (the manual does not specify which sensor triggers this)
• Fuses F1 to F4 blown following a short circuit in a peripheral (pump, wiper, rewind unit, heater)
• Peripheral not controlled: pump, wiper, rewind unit or heater inactive

Replacing the circuit board restores control of the print heads and peripherals, once any short circuits on the peripheral side have been ruled out using procedure 5.2.1.
