Conical scoring and bending cutter – Diager – 4041-10P0200-095°

The Diager 4041-10P0200-095° cutter is a single-piece carbide conical tool, specifically developed for V-grooving followed by bending of composite panels with a plastic core and aluminium cladding (ACM and TAC types such as Dibond© and Alucobond©).

It enables the machining of a V-groove with an open angle of 95° in the top skin and the central foam core of the panel, without cutting into the bottom skin. The panel can then be folded at a right angle (90°) along the groove, with the additional 5° compensating for the material’s springback to achieve a clean, even fold. This technique is used in signage, point-of-sale displays, architectural cladding and the manufacture of light boxes.

Supplied as a single tool (without a shank), it fits any tool holder designed for a standard Ø6 mm shank. For Zünd cutting tables requiring a shanked cutter, please refer to version 4041--10P0200-095-B.

Function

• Creation of 2 mm deep V-grooves at a 95° angle on aluminium composite panels

• Machining of the top skin and plastic core without damaging the bottom skin, which acts as a hinge
• Chip evacuation upwards via the right-hand spiral (upcut) for a clean, even groove

Possible symptoms of wear

• Irregular bending, breakage or tearing of the bottom face when bending the panel
• Burrs, aluminium strands or foam tear-outs in the groove
• Inaccurate creasing depth or degraded V-angle, resulting in a non-square fold
• Abnormal heating, increased vibration or irregular cutting noise during production
• Chipping of the cutting edge or breakage of the conical tip during machining
