I3200-A1 print head – Epson PrecisionCore – C14FA32032

The Epson I3200(4)-A1 (OEM part no. C14FA32032) is the PrecisionCore MicroTFP piezoelectric print head fitted to the majority of the latest-generation DTF, dye-sublimation and DTG printers that use water-based inks. This is the component that ejects ink onto the film, transfer paper or fabric.

The print head comprises 3,200 nozzles arranged in 8 rows of 400 (spacing of 1/300 inch), fed by 4 independent ink channels. Two rows are combined per colour to achieve a native resolution of 600 dpi over a usable width of 33.8 mm. Epson’s waveform technology supports binary mode (5 pl at 43.2 kHz) and greyscale printing with 3 or 4 drop sizes (3.8 to 12.5 pl at 21.6 kHz), offering a balance between speed and fineness that can be adjusted via the RIP.

Supplied as a complete original Epson print head (Assy), it is an exact replacement for an existing I3200-A1. The A1 variant is designed for water-based inks (viscosity 2.2 to 4.5 mPa·s); it is not interchangeable with the E1 (eco-solvent) and U1 (UV) versions, whose internal structure is designed to handle more aggressive inks. Check the marking on the existing print head before ordering.

Function

Possible symptoms of wear

• Missing or misaligned nozzles on the nozzle test, not recovered after several cleaning cycles
• Horizontal bands (banding) or missing colour channel, incomplete DTF white
• Satellite dots and blurred printing due to poorly formed droplets
• Ink leakage or colour mixing at the nozzles; ink dripping onto the media
• Printhead error or printhead not recognised by the control board following an electrical surge

Replacing the I3200-A1 print head restores all 3,200 nozzles and the original print quality; it is recommended that the dampers, capping assemblies and print head cables be replaced at the same time to prevent contamination of the new print head.
