Printhead Housing Cap – HP Latex – CZ151-40612

The CZ151-40612 printhead housing plug (dummy printhead) is a moulded plastic component made to the exact dimensions of an HP 831 printhead. It fits into an empty slot on the print carriage of HP Latex 100, 300 and 500 series printers to mechanically occupy the space when no printhead is fitted.

It replicates the L-shaped profile, the locking tab and the guide grooves of an HP 831 printhead, but contains neither a nozzle plate, nor a flex circuit, nor ink orifices. Its function is purely mechanical: it keeps the housing closed and protects the spring contacts of the interconnect, as well as the carriage seals, from dust and ink aerosol. This cover ensures that the carriage remains clean and the contacts remain intact when the printer is brought back into service.

Supplied individually, it is fitted as standard by HP in the carriage of new machines (HP barcode label in the 831 printhead format) and removed during installation prior to fitting the setup printheads. It is essential for transporting, storing or shipping a machine or carriage from which one or more printheads have been removed.
