The Cable Harness Head A+B, part number 2119911, comprises the two flat flexible cables (FFCs) that connect the carriage relay board to the print head on Epson Stylus Pro and SureColor large-format plotters. The two flat flexible cables are integral: they are fitted and removed together.

Channel A and Channel B connect to connectors CN105 and CN106 respectively. They carry the nozzle control signals as well as the drive voltages for the print head’s piezoelectric elements.

Constantly subjected to the bending action of the carriage, these ribbon cables are subject to wear and tear: fatigue of the conductive tracks at the bends causes micro-breaks long before a complete break occurs. Replacing them restores the equipment to its original performance.
