The DX6 print head (part number 6701409010) is the original Epson piezoelectric head fitted to Roland VS series eco-solvent printers and derivatives (RA, RE, RF, EJ, FH), as well as to many Mutoh ValueJet and Mimaki JV/CJV/TS models. This is the key component of the print head carriage, which ejects eco-solvent or mild-solvent ink droplets onto the print media.

Built around 8 independent nozzle lines (1,440 nozzles in total) and featuring variable dot size control from 1.5 to 21 picolitres, this printhead offers a native resolution of 360 dpi with a typical firing frequency of 8 kHz. It can be configured for 4 or 8 colours depending on the machine’s architecture, ensuring high detail and excellent colour density on all eco-solvent and mild-solvent media.

This part is reconditioned, tested and graded by condition prior to dispatch (see condition chart below). Depending on the manufacturer, the same component is listed as 6701409010 at Roland, DG-43988 / DG-42987 / DG-42771 / DG-43345 at Mutoh, and M015372 / M010792 at Mimaki; the designation DX6 or DX7 varies by manufacturer, but the underlying Epson technology is identical. Preparation time, storage and pre-use process

Each printhead undergoes a 24- to 48-hour inspection prior to dispatch. During this period, the printhead is inspected, cleaned and packaged to ensure maximum protection during transit, hence the additional lead time before dispatch. All our printheads are then stored in a suitable liquid to preserve the nozzles during transit and storage at the customer’s premises.

Recommended procedure before installing the print head:

1. Rinse with isopropyl alcohol
2. Rinse with solvent
3. Connect the print head to the machine

Function
